Patient Engagement RIG

Patient Engagement RIG

The Patient Engagement Research Interest Group explored strategies for patient engagement, including qualitative interviews, community outreach, and the role of advocacy groups in bridging gaps between basic science and clinical practice.

Goals of this RIG include reaching out to existing patient advocacy organizations in the disease areas of interest to explore collaboration opportunities, developing educational materials and outreach strategies to increase awareness and understanding of basic science research among patient communities, and conduct qualitative interviews with patients to better understand their perspectives, concerns, and preferences around participating in basic science research.
